Rock of Ages
14 - 17 May 2025
Director: Angus Jacobs
Musical Director: Colin Gray
The Haymarket, Basingstoke
Evenings: 7.30pm, Saturday matinee: 2.30pm
Step back in time to the 1980s era of big bands, guitar solos and even bigger hair!
It’s the tail end of the decade, but the party’s still raging at one of the Sunset Strip’s last legendary venues, where sex machine Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and scantily clad groupies line up to turn their fantasies into reality.
Aspiring rock star Drew longs to be the next big thing and has his eyes set on Sherrie, who’s fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes. But German developers stand to thwart their rock ‘n’ roll dream with their plans to turn the fabled Strip into another capitalist strip mall.
Can Drew, Sherrie and the gang save the strip – and themselves – before it’s too late?
Featuring incredible 80s bangers including, I Want to Know What Love Is, We Built This City, Wanted Dead or Alive, The Final Countdown and Don’t Stop Believin’.
