We’re all volunteers at BATS, juggling full-time jobs, families and other commitments, but we’ll always do our best to reply to your enquiry as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience!

We’re sadly not able to help with all enquiries that we receive. To manage your expectations, listed below are common enquiries that we are not able to help with. To save your time and ours, we kindly ask you take a moment to review these before submitting your enquiry. We will not reply to these types of enquiries.

We do not hire sets, props or costumes.
We generally hire specialist sets/props and costumes from professional third-party suppliers. If you’d like to know which suppliers we used for a particular production, then look at the page for that particular production. We always list the scenery and costume suppliers under the ‘Creative Team’ section.

We appreciate the offer of beautiful costumes! However, our wardrobe storage is limited and we sadly do not have the space to accept any donations at the present time.

Whilst we do occasionally cast children in our productions, you need to be 18 to join BATS.
But take a look at two other local musical theatre groups that cater for children aged 11/12-18 years:

Whilst our members love performing, BATS is unfortunately not available for bookings of this nature. It generally takes a substantial amount of time to devise and rehearse such shows, and we're not able to dedicate the required resource or time alongside the demands of our productions.

Unfortunately, plays are not our thing! We specialise in performing well-known musical theatre productions under license from major UK/US licensors. However, we wish you the very best of luck with your project.

We do not have a ‘house orchestra’ or recruit our own musicians. Orchestras are created for each show by the contracted Musical Director. You can find out the name of the Musical Director for previous productions by looking at the archived show pages. The MD is listed under the ‘Creative Team’ section.

We’re not able to offer placements. BATS is a self-funded, not-for-profit amateur theatrical group that is run by volunteers in their spare time, so it would not be practical for you to join us on a full-time basis for experience .
However! Volunteering to help out with our productions can help you to gain valuable experience. We stage two productions a year, in May and November. Take a look at the Volunteering page that outlines ways in which you can get involved.
