Welcome to Basingstoke Amateur Theatrical Society (BATS)
Founded in 1958, BATS is a not-for-profit, amateur theatrical society that specialises in staging musicals. Membership is open to those aged 16+.
We are a self-funded, not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers who share a passion for musical theatre – whether performing on-stage or working behind the scenes. We produce two shows a year, in May and November, usually at The Haymarket in Basingstoke (United Kingdom).
Over the years, BATS has established a reputation for staging musical theatre productions that are of an exceptional standard, using talent from in and around Basingstoke.
From the pen of Monty Python's Eric Idle, Spamalot is an uproarious homage to the world of musical theatre and celebrates a very British brand of humour. Tickets now on sale. Performances run 16 - 20 May 2017.
We're honoured that our audiences continue to come back and support us! Read what the press and our audiences thought about our previous shows on the archived previous shows pages.
