Welcome to BATS.
Dedicated to Quality Musical Theatre
Founded in 1958, BATS is a not-for-profit amateur theatrical society in Basingstoke, UK, specialising in musical productions. We are a self-funded group run by passionate volunteers, producing two shows annually in May and November. BATS has built a reputation for high-quality theatre, showcasing local talent. Membership requires a minimum age of 18.
Want to Perform?
If you want to perform with BATS you must be at least 18 years old. We’ve put together a set of FAQs, which tell you everything you need to know.
If we have already cast our current show, you'll need to wait until pre-audition rehearsals start for our next production. However, volunteering to help on our current production is a great way to get to know us and see what's involved.
If you are under 18, visit the website for our sister Society, BATS Next Gen (caters for ages 7 -18 years).

If you’re not one for the limelight but want to volunteer to help out off-stage, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.
If you have previously worked on other productions, have a particular area of expertise or specialist skill – or just want to try your hand at something new – we’d love to hear from you.

We are a member of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association. NODA's vision is that amateur theatre is successful and sustainable, providing a range of opportunities for people to develop their skills and enjoy taking part, at all levels.
