ELIGIBILITY TO AUDITION

Cast members will need to attend ALL rehearsals (Monday and Wednesday evenings, 7.30pm - 10.00pm) as they will be a combination of setting calls, breakdown rehearsals and run-throughs.

Welcome talk and Pre-audition Workshop 1

You must attend the welcome talk or pre-audition workshop 2 in order to audition.

Date: Wed 20 May 2026, 7.30pm – 10.00pm

What will happen:
7.30pm - 8.00pm
Presentation on the show, the characters, how we're hoping it'll play out in the theatre

8.00pm - 10.00pm
Breakout into round table script readings where you'll have chance to try out any characters you think you'd like to play. We'll break into two groups (or more depending on the number of attendees) and switch characters through the readings to give everyone a chance to try ideas and bounce off each other.

Pre-audition workshop 2

You must attend the welcome talk or pre-audition workshop 2 in order to audition.

Date: Mon 1 June, 7.30pm – 10.00pm
Venue: Christ Church, Reading Road, Chineham, RG24 8LT (Side room)

What will happen:
An open workshop session, where you'll be able to read through the script with other attendees and the creative team. Initially it’ll be reading around the table, as the workshop progresses there will an opportunity to act out scenes as well. You’ll be working in groups and have the opportunity to switch characters to try any characters you think you’d like to play.

The online audition form must be submitted by 11.59pm on Wednesday 3 June 2026.

Alongside director setting dates, cast will be called for rehearsal every Monday and Wednesday evening and on some Sundays. That said, we understand that conflicts can happen. Welcome talk and Social

It is not mandatory to attend in order to audition:

What will happen:
This is a chance to meet the Creative Team who will go through the expectations and their vision for the show i.e. characters, how auditions will go etc. The evening will then continue with Christmas drinks for all with time to catch up with members old and new.

Pre-audition workshops

You do not have to attend a pre-audition workshop in order to audition. An optional individual 10-minute singing session with the Musical Director or Assistant Musical Director can be booked (*see below). The audition dance will be taught on audition day.

This is a chance to meet the Director and Musical Director. The Director will introduce the show, including the available characters and audition expectations and and also outline his vision for the production. You’ll also sing extracts from a couple of numbers with the MD.

You do not need to register to attend a pre-audition workshop. Though you’ll need to pre-book for an individual singing slot with the MD (one per person).
