The hills are alive once more as BATS brings the best-loved musical of all-time to The Haymarket.  My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, The Lonely Goatherd, Edelweiss, Sixteen Going On Seventeen and of course the joyous title song, The Sound of Music all feature in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s heart-warming family show.

“How do you solve a problem like Maria?” wonder the nuns of Nonberg Abbey about their free-spirited young postulant.  The solution: send her to be governess to the seven children of the autocratic Captain Von Trapp.  Maria soon wins the affection of the children and their father by bringing music back to the family.  But this is Austria, 1938, and Nazi stormclouds are gathering…
