Clare started performing at the age of three (although admittedly it was to Swan Lake on the radio for her Auntie Brenda in the front room) and soon progressed to comic routines involving her Nana’s glasses, together with an Australian accent! Fast forward a few years (or thirty!) and an ankle injury meant that Clare could no longer pursue her ambition to become a Prima Ballerina, but instead danced and sung her way through many shows with BATS. She has performed in a number of the Society’s pantomimes, playing Belle in ‘A Christmas Carol’ and Rosalia in ‘West Side Story’. More recently she has played Kate in ‘Pirates of Penzance’, Ado Annie in ‘Oklahoma!’ and Polly Baker in ‘Crazy for You’.
