Crazy for You is the story of Bobby Child, a well-to-do 1930's playboy, whose dream in life is to dance. And despite the serious efforts of his mother and soon-to-be-ex-fiancee, Bobby achieves his dream! Memorable Gershwin tunes include "I Can't Be Bothered Now", "Bidin' My Time", "I Got Rhythm", "Naughty Baby", "They Can't Take That Away from Me", "But Not for Me", "Nice Work if You Can Get It", "Embraceable You" and "Someone to Watch Over Me". It's a high energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers and classic Gershwin music.

Crazy for You played for 1,622 performances on Broadway at the Schubert Theatre starring Harry Groener and Jodi Benson. It won three Tony awards (for musical, choreographer and costume designer), three Outer Critics Circle awards (for Broadway musical, choreography and set, costume and lighting design) and two Drama Desk awards (for musical and choreography).

Rehearsals are almost over for this show in BATS' Golden Jubilee year (see some photos from recent rehearsals) and the show will open in The Anvil on Tuesday 13th May running to Saturday 17th May. It may still be possible for you to join in, on-stage or backstage - contact Katy at new-members@bats.net as soon as possible.
