MEN WANTED! We are looking for four men aged 16 - 40 years to fill chorus roles that require dance & movement in our production of My Fair Lady at The Haymarket. For further information contact Liz on 01256 328036 or email us at info@bats.net. My Fair Lady is the enchanting tale of transformation made famous by Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews on the International stage, and Harrison and Audrey Hepburn in the 1964 film. Henry Higgins (a professor of phonetics) wagers that he can transform Eliza Doolittle from a broad cockney flower girl into a duchess, which results in the beautiful melodies of “Wouldn't It Be Loverly”, “The Rain In Spain” , “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “On the Street Where You Live”; the raucous antics of the cockneys in “With a Little Bit of Luck” and “Get Me To the Church On Time”; plus the restrained pleasure of “the Ascot Gavotte”. But what happens when the experiment is over and where does Eliza fit in? £10 Subscribe and Save Offer Tickets for My Fair Lady are now on general sale, with show details and prices available here. The cast list for My Fair Lady is now available on the show page. Well done to all those who were successful at auditions and commiserations to those who were not cast in their first choice of part. Many thanks to all those who turned out for the AGM which was held at the beginning of the month and where it was announced that we will perform Disney's Beauty and the Beast next Autumn. But this will only be possible with the support of all the members to ensure that we have sufficient funds as it will be an expensive show to stage. It was agreed to set the membership fee to £35 for the coming year and everyone will be sent an invoice shortly (or you can go here and pay it now). The Jumble Sale on Saturday 6th June raised nearly £300. Many thanks to all those who helped out on the day or contributed jumble to sell. Two more jumble sales are organised for 3rd October and 28th November at Oakley Village Hall. Please turn out your cupboards (again!) and donate any suitable jumble to help raise funds. More details on the Social page. The summer BBQ will be on Sunday 6th September at John and Aileen's house. Full details nearer the date. We have started a "Coppers for BATS" campaign (this has nothing to do with NickH or LizW!). Please save all your 1p's and 2p's and bring them along to the next social evening or rehearsal.
